Description

Why.... Why the fence? Why a Cache in this spot? Because it's my first cache that I have hidden.

The fence.... A standard 6" garden variety fence in a circular fashion at a busy road junction. There is no need to jump the fence to find the cache. The cache is a film canister with logbook and stash note only, so bring your own pen. So..... Why the fence? If you know the answer, then please share it with the rest of us. Or just tell us your theory of ‘Why the fence?’

Logs

This geocache appears to be MIA so to stop it clogging the search lists we'll archive it. This is done to keep the Geocaching Australia clean and up to date.

If the owner can confirm it is in place the listing can be resurrected by placing an "unarchived" log against it.

This cache is a dual listing, and has been archived on the other site due to a lack of maintenance. https://coord.info/GCNT6M

Could the cache owner please check the condition of the cache to at least keep it alive on this site?

Have looked for this a long time ago with no luck, mainly as it was 8:30 in the morning of a school day and muggles were EVERYWHERE. This cache is also listed on Groundspeak at the same location!!!!????.
Any rate, later in the day today and not a teenage muggle in sight. Looked everywhere (using CG co-ordinates - the same?) and eventually found it.

Nearly gave up on this one as I was time poor on the way home, when the lightning bolt struck and the cache was found in the first place I should have looked Embarassed !

Hmm we think we have found this. 15th for the day with Team Redrox. Very confusing this one:( there seems to be no clarification on whether this is the one and the same. Can anyone clear this up please?
If there is a definate different cache somewhere in this same location then we didnt find it:(

I'm sure it's already been said but the fence is there to justify someone's job. Or to keep marauding ancient trees in. Or to provide an excuse for logging two caches with one find.

Found this ages ago but hadn't replicated the log on GCA!! I reckon the fence is only there to make finding the cache hard. IT would be so much easier if you could approach from another angle.

Probably should have logged this one a long time ago, as I got FTF but only logged it on GC, not on GCA.

Ah well catching up on things now!

I think I found this cache. Or did I find the GC cache? Should the GCA listing be archived if the GC listing is the main one?

Found the cache quickly which gave me more time to ponder the fence. It was so that some clever cacher could put a cache there of course! Smile. Thanks

Good question - what is the fence for. A quick find. TFTC. But which one do I log GC or GA

I found it with Everlasting. Thanks Smile

27-Dec-07
logged this one on GC and thought I may as well log it on GCA as well

Just for a short afternoon stroll to test new settings on OZI CE. still needs some adjustment. found it eventually and signed log. The fence could be to offer some sort of protection to what is probably quite historical given the age of the trees in the enclosure.

Found the cache at 7pm. Admire old trees. Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.

Struggled for quite a while. I was ready to pac it in, but diesel was more patient than me.

Signed the log
Thanks for the cache

(I think the fence is to protect the tree from us and us from the tree)

Also logged on the other site

Searched for quite a while before finding this

Nice walk from home. Found my FIRST cache!!! Took a few mins to find once there.
I believe the fence is actually there to protect the very large, old gumtree from foot traffic and vandals!!
Removed quite a few pieces of rubbish from around the site also!
Thanks for the effort!

This was my second attempt at this one after a work day - and today was not a good day to go cache hunting as I was in somewhat of a mood.

What is it with the fence? On one side of it my GPS said one thing and on the other something completely different! Both of them were fairly inaccurate and the cache was found by the semi-crippled EmZee with the "Other James Brown" (another colleague - not yet a cacher) a little embarrassed as he had looked in the hidey hole not a minute before.

Signed the log for both of us.

My second attempt at this. First time I just could not see it. Came back with more equipment and found it immediatly.

ot to keep those trees in there somehow.
Quick stop on the way to collect Setsujoku for a caching day out.
TNLNSL. Could only sign log actually!

Took a little searching but eventually found. So many possible little hidey holes! The plant along the fence line is already starting to look a bit worse for wear. I hope this wasn't from goecachers searching? Because its not there!
As for the fence its obviously there to keep the spirits from the ancient aboriginal burial ground from straying. Cheers Waterlogged.
