Prechádzka po Košickej Novej Vsi
Prvá písomná zmienka pochádza z roku 1297, ktorá poukazuje na výstavbu tunajšieho Kostola sv. Ladislava. V roku 1826 mala KNV 684 obyvateľov. V roku 1896 mala 1160 obyvateľov. Ku Košiciam, ako mestská časť bola pričlenená 1. augusta 1968. Obyvateľstvo sa v minulosti venovalo poľnohospodárstvu a pestovaniu viniča. Choroba viniča všetky vinice zničila, a tak si obyvateľstvo muselo nájsť náhradný zdroj obživy. Zameralo na chov ošípaných a obchodovanie s nimi. Známa šunka, klobásky, majoše a najmä zvláštne spracované škvarky priniesli novovešťanom prezývku „škvarkare“.

The first written mention comes from the year 1297, which points to the construction of the local Church of St. Ladislava. In 1826, KNV had 684 inhabitants. In 1896 it had 1160 inhabitants. It was annexed to Košice as a part of the city on August 1, 1968. In the past, the population was engaged in agriculture and vineyard cultivation. The vineyard disease destroyed all the vineyards, so the population had to find an alternative source of livelihood. It focused on raising and trading pigs. The well-known ham, sausages, majos and especially specially processed greaves brought the modernists the nickname "greaves".
