Kościół św. Jakuba

Gotycka budowla wzniesiona w latach 1309-1424 jako kościół parafialny dla Nowego Miasta Torunia. Jedyny w Toruniu kościół o układzie bazylikowym (dwie naw boczne o potowe niższe od nawy głównej) z typowym dla zachodniej Europy systemom łuków przyporowych, ukrytych podczas podwyższania naw bocznych w XIV - XV w.

Prezbiterium otoczone skośnymi skarpami daje wrażenie wielobocznego zamknięcia. Lokalny klimat wnętrza tworzą gotyckie polichromie sklepienia, mistyczny krucyfiks Drzewo Życia z końca XIV w., renesansowe organy oraz łuk tęczowy, stalle i ołtarze z XVII - XVIII w. Część wyposażenia pochodzi z nieistniejącego kościoła dominikańskiego pw. św. Mikołaja. Świątynia w latach 1557-1607 należała do protestantów, następnie do 1832 r. do zakonu benedyktynek.

W roku 2021 został ustanowiony jednym z 48 w Polsce Kościołów Stacyjnych Jubileuszowego Roku Świętego Jakuba.

St James’ Church

The Gothic building was erected 1309-1424 as the parish church for Torun New Town. It is the only church in Torun to be built in basilica form, with two side naves half the best of the main have and a system of supportive arches typical of western Europe. These were covered over when the height of the side naves was raised in the 14th and 15th centuries. The chancel surrounded by sloping buttresses gives the impression of an enclosed polygon. The unique atmosphere of the Interior is effected by the Gothic polychrome and taking the mystical crucifix. Tree of Life from the end of the 19th century, the Renaissance organ and the rainbow arch, stalls and altars from the 17th and 15th centuries. Some at the fittings came from the now non-existent Dominican church of St. Michael. St James’ Church belonged to the Protestants 1557-1667, and then, until 1632, to the Benedictine nuns.

In 2021, it was established as one of the 48 Station Churches of the Jubilee Year of Saint James in Poland.

St-Jakobs-Kirche

Gotisches Bauwerk, errichtet in den Jahren 1309 bis 1424 als Pfarrkirche für die Neustadt Thorn. Die einzige Kirche in Thorn in Form einer Basilika [zwei Seltenschiffe im die Hälfte niedriger als das Hauptschiff mit einem für Westeuropa typischen System von Strebebögen, die bei der Erhöhung der Seitenschilfe im 14.-15. Jh verdeckt wurden. Das Presbyterium [Chor] umgeben von schrauben Strebepfeilern, erweckt den Eindruck eines mehrseitigen Abschlusses. Gotische Wandmalereien und Gewölbe, ein mystisches Kruzifix als Lebensbaum vom Ende des 16 Jh. eine Renaissance-Orgel und ein Triumphbogen, Gestühl und Altäre aus dem 17.-18. Jh. rufen eine einzigartige Stimmung im Kircheninneren hervor. Ein Teil der Ausstattung slammt aus der nicht mehr existierenden Dominikanerkirche St. Nikolai. Die St. Jakobs-Kirche hatte von 1557 bis 1667 den Protestanten gehört, danach bis 1832 dem Benediktinerinnen-Orden.

Im Jahr 2021 wurde es als eine der 48 Stationskirchen des Jubiläumsjahres des Heiligen Jakobus in Polen gegründet.
