 Foresto (470 m s.l.m.)
è una frazione di Bussoleno, vicino a Susa. Fu comune autonomo fino al 1929 e conta oggi poco meno di 500 residenti. Foresto è conosciuta in bassa Valsusa prevalentemente grazie all'orrido che prende il suo nome. Si tratta di una gola molto stretta e lunga circa 500 metri dove vi scorre il torrente Rocciamelone.
La Via ferrata dell'Orrido di Foresto
ritracciata nel Novembre del 2003 su iniziativa delle Guide Alpine della Valle, non è altro che la ricostruzione di un vecchio itinerario attrezzato degli sessanta, utilizzata per circa un ventennio, poi chiusa, ed in parte smontata, in quanto ritenuta eccessivamente pericolosa. Con un secondo intervento nel 2010, sono stati realizzati i tre ponti tibetani che rendono ancora più spettacolare l’itinerario. Oggi il nuovo percorso presenta molto più “ferro“ di quello originale, il che facilità e rende la salita più agevole, pur rimanendo un itinerario di una certa difficoltà con un paio di brevi tratti impegnativi.
Il percorso si snoda completamente all'interno della profonda gola, nelle tenere rocce calcaree che sovrastano l’abitato di Foresto, l’ambiente è tetro e spettacolare nel medesimo tempo, il torrente che scorre impetuoso costantemente sul fondo del canyon, crea cascate e pozze straordinarie.
Difficoltà: D- via ferrata, dislivello 250 m.
Durata circa 2.5/3 ore + 20 minuti per la discesa su sentiero.
Il Cache: E' un contenitore micro fissato ad un albero prima della scalinata.
Attrezzatura: imbrago, casco, kit ferrata con longe e dissipatore, guanti.
Non affrontare il percorso in presenza di piene o comunque quando il torrente ha una grossa portata d’acqua e tanto meno in periodi piovosi o temporaleschi!

is a district of Bussoleno, near Susa with about 500 residents. Foresto is known in lower Susa valley mainly through the gorge which takes its name. It is a very narrow gorge about 500 meters long where stream flows the stream Rocciamelone.
Foresto gorge's via ferrata
rebuilt in November 2003, is nothing more than the reconstruction of an old route of the sixties, used for about twenty years and then closed and partly dismantled, because it was considered too dangerous. With a second renovation in 2010 three rope bridges have been implemented, which make route even more interesting.
Today the new route has a lot more "iron" than the original, which makes the climb easier, which nevertheless still remains a difficult route with a couple of short challenging spots.
The route runs completely inside the deep gorge, along limestone rocks above the village of Foresto, the environment is bleak and spectacular at the same time, the stream that flows constantly rushing to the bottom of the canyon, creating waterfalls and pools.
The Cache: Is micro sized fixed on a tree right before the high climb.
Difficulty: D- via ferrata with 250 meters of difference in height.
Duration: +/- 2.5/3 hours + 20 minutes way back
Equipment: Helmet, harness, Ferrata-kit, optional gloves.
Do not enter the gorge when the stream has a high flow of water and not in rainy periods or with thunder!
