Дерев'яна церква Пресвятої Трійці / Wooden church of the Holy Trinity
[UA] Дерев’яний храм Пресвятої Трійці будували на львівській околиці у вікопомні історичні часи, коли 1654 року до нашого міста наближалося військо українського гетьмана Богдана Хмельницького. Деякі історики припускають, що церкву будували за сприяння самого гетьмана. Будучи зразком української сакральної архітектури XVII століття, сихівський храм є одним із не багатьох у Західній Україні, які славляться своїм внутрішнім розписом.
Стінопис церкви датований 1683 роком. У рослинний орнамент вписано зображення трьох святих воїнів: Теодора Тиронського, Юрія і Дмитрія. Такий добір святих відповідає героїчному часові, у якому був створений стінопис. Воїни одягнуті у панцирі, у їхніх руках списи і щити. Інтер’єр храму також оздоблений багатьма іншими стінописними сценами зі Святого Письма.
Зайти на територію церкви (і в церкву) можна лише під час літургії. В інший час церква закрита.

The wooden Church of the Holy Trinity was built long ago, when in 1654 the army of Ukrainian Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky was approaching the city. Some historians assume that the Hetman himself supported the construction of the church. An example of Ukrainian sacred architecture of the 17th century, the church in Sykhiv is one of few in Western Ukraine to be famous for its wall-paintings.
The church wall-paintings date back to 1683. The floral pattern incorporates the images of three military saints: Theodore of Tyrone, George, and Demetrius. Such a collection of saints reflects the heroic times when the wall-paintings were created. The warriors wear armour and hold spears and shields in their hands. The church interior is also adorned with many other wall-paintings depicting events from the Gospel.
The entrance to the church territory is accessible only during the liturgy. In another time the entrance is closed.
