Driving to Nicosia one sunny afternoon, we caught sight of a statue we'd never noticed before. The style caught our eye and further investigation shows it to be a memorial to Panagiotis Toumazos, an EOKA freedom fighter who died at the too short age of nineteen.
His history is here, and the page can be translated via Google.

It's a peaceful spot despite being sited next to a main road, and there's parking to the rear. A shady tree to sit under whilst remembering young lives taken too soon, and an easy cache to find.
