Romaanse Sint-Eligiuskerk Oudekerkstraat, Ettelgem Sedert 1911 doet deze grotendeels Romaanse constructie geen dienst meer als bidplaats. Het oorspronkelijke uitzicht van de kerk is nog duidelijk zichtbaar: een driehoekige basilikale vorm met koor en arcaden van de middenbeuk (twaalfde en veertiende eeuw). De stoere toren dateert uit de veertiende eeuw en de sacristie uit de zeventiende eeuw. In samenwerking met de Koning Boudewijnstichting, de Provincie West-Vlaanderen en de Dienst voor Monumentenzorg van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap werd deze Romaanse kerk in 1986-1988 door het stadsbestuur gerestaureerd. Tijdens de zomermaanden lopen er geregeld kunsttentoonstellingen. ****************************************************************************************************** Romanesque Saint-Eligius church, Oudekerkstraat, Ettelgem. Since 1911, this largely Romanesque construction no longer serves as a place of worship. The original view of the church is still clearly visible: a triangular Basil bare form with choir and arcades of the central nave (twelfth and fourteenth century). The sturdy tower dates from the fourteenth century and the sacristy from the seventeenth century. In collaboration with the King Baudouin Foundation, the Province of West Flanders and the Service for the Conservation of Monuments of the Flemish Community, this Romanesque church was restored in 1986-1988 by the city council. Art exhibitions regularly take place during the summer months.
