Nel novembre 1492 i Padri Carmelitani di Milano acquistarono alcuni pezzi di terra in Appiano per costruirvi un loro piccolo convento. Ove vi fabbricarono una chiesa dedicata alla Beata Vergine del Carmelo.
La devozione popolare per la Madonna del Monte Carmelo nasce nel 1791 quando il miracoloso intervento della Vergine arrestò una dilagante epidemia nel bestiame.
Ancora oggi, nel mese di maggio la popolazione si reca in processione al Monte Carmelo in segno di devozione e ringraziamento.
All'interno dell'edificio si apprezzano due quadri ad olio rappresentanti la Vergine e l'Angelo Custode.
In November 1492 the Padri Carmelitani of Milan bought some pieces of land in Appiano to build their small convent. There they manufactured a church dedicated to the Beata Vergine of Carmelo.
The popular devotion to the Beata Vergine of Carmelo was born in 1791 when the miraculous intervention of the Virgin stopped a widespread epidemic in cattle.
Even today, in the month of May, the people went in procession to Monte Carmelo as a sign of devotion and thanksgiving.
Inside the building you can appreciate two oil paintings depicting the Virgin and the Angel Guardian.
