Fattest tree in Poland! Najgrubsze w Polsce!
EN: This tree (a poplar) was claimed to be the "fattest" in Poland with a circumference of 15 meters (near the ground level) or 11.2 meters (at 1.3 m). Unfortunately, the tree had broken several years ago and now only its bottom part (still very fat) remains. It is situated in nice remains of an old park Karpinek that belonged to the nearby mansion house (now not existing - see information on a tourist information board). Now it is maintained by the local authorities and serves as a place for angling (with a nice and quiet fishing pond). The cache is situated in some distance from the "big tree" due to the anglers that sit usually very close to it.
Getting to the park is a bit tricky. There is a car park very near, but accessible only trough a small way going along the fence of the BioPlanet facility - see the additional waypoint. If you ride a bike, you can also access the area from the north-west (a small footpath). It is rather NOT accessible from other directions.
PL: Drzewo to topola biała, która według różnych źródeł była najgrubszym drzewem w Polsce o obwodzie 15 m (przy ziemi) lub 11.2 m (na wys. 1,3 m). Niestety, drzewo się już kilka lat temu złamało i teraz pozostały tylko resztki dolnej części (nadal bardzo grube). Jest ono położone w pozostałościach startego parku Karpinek, należącego niegdyś do pobliskiego dworu (patrz informacja podana na tablicy dla turystów). Kesz ukryty w pewnej odległości od "wielkiego drzewa" z powodu wędkarzy, którzy często siedzą bardzo niedaleko. Dotarcie do parku nie jest łatwe. Na terenie jest parking, ale wjazd do niego jest tylko przez małą dróżkę wzdłuż ogrodzenia firmy BioPlanet - zobacz dodatkowy waypoint. Jeśli jesteś rowerem, możesz dotrzeć do parku z północnego zachodu niewielką ścieżką. Raczej niedostępne z innych kierunków.
