Geocache Description:

The marble mines of the Apuan Alps can be astonishing but caches buried up here can sometimes sound a little tricky to reach. This disused mine has easy parking outside, a stunning entrance and is almost a drive-by cache for those who want an insight into the majesty of marble mining without a long trek. The cache is at 1221 feet above sea level and the entrance to the quarry is on the road from Isola Santa to Arni just before the right turn to Arni.

The cache is a plastic sandwich box. Inside are small toys, bottle opener, log book and pencil and at time of launch a TB. From inside the mine look for a shingle path leading up to a higher level. You don't need to cross water or mountain climb! But you may want to use the hint as your GPS may go a little crazy inside Henraux!
