Browsing new geokrets I've noted a particularly cute one:

QR Code on the labels

For easy logging dropping or grabbing during your trip, I've added the possibility of attaching QR code on the GK label. QR Code is a kind of bar code, which can be "scanned" by your mobile phone, which will redirect you to the proper page at geokrety.org; you will not have to enter the tracking code, everything will be encrypted in the QR.

You have a choice!

It is possible to choose the background of your statpic. By now, four designs are avaliable. If you have an idea for a new one - feel free to send it us (png/svg, 220x50px).

Changed logo in GK stat banner

I've decided to change a bit baner with users stats and replaced the old (but good) logo with new one designed by tatanka. What do you think about it?

Scrolling on logs pages

Now it is possible to "scroll" logs (My recent logs, Recent logs of my geokrets etc) to see the previous ones.

Printing label ver. 2

Now you can edit a description of the geokret before printing the label.

To the Moon and back

All geokrets travelled 767695 km, it means they travelled to the Moon and back! Cool!

GeoKrets are not a trade item!

Please remember: GeoKrets are not a trade item, you do not have to put something in the cache to take a GK, and you should not take something from a cache in trade for a GK. If you should take something from a cache, you should make a trade, and you can place the GK.

Przypominamy: GeoKrety nie są fantami na wymianę - można je wkładać i wyciągać z keszy niezależnie, czy wkładamy/wyjmujemy inne fanty. Nie przeprowadzamy natomiast transakcji typu: IN: geokret OUT: jakieś fanty. KPW? ;)

GK first birthday!

Today we are celebrating the first birthday of GeoKrety!

By now we have 1746 registered GeoKrets, 938 GeoKrets are hidden in the caches; all GeoKrets done 677210 km - it is 16,9x the earth equatorial circumference and is almost 2x distance from the Earth to the Moon - cool! And we have 1653 registered users. Thanks!

Danish localization

Thanks to Niels Langkilde / oz9els, Geokrety are now avaliable in Danish. Enjoy!

GK map improved (a bit)

Now GK map centers at your home coordinates (you can edit it in your profile). If you hadn't defined it, the map centers on the Most Przyjaźni in Zgorzelec/Gorlitz.

Spanish localization

Thanks to Zugzwangy, the geokrety site is now avaliable in Spanish. Divertidse! (?)

There are some minor changes and updates:
+ Thanks to Grimpel we have new german help file as well as improved translation. Thanks!
+ Email notification will be send - as usual - every 24 hours but not necesary at midnight (we don't want to load our smtp too much at 0:00).
+ First birthday is coming up... :)

GeoKrety.org are back!

During last days we had had some problems with our domains (we didn't get the invoice on time); but now everything should be ok, and we do our best to keep geokrety.org running 24h/day.

During those days we get a lot of emails with a support offers - thanks a lot for it, it was very nice :)

So, keep geokreting!

Email problems

We had some problems with sending emails during last three days, even we thought about sending notifications via regular mail (joke:); but we finally fixed the bug and mailing should work now. If you are expecting email from GK (eg with password confirmation), please check your mailbox and - if there is no mail form GK - reapply the apropriate request. Your GK team -- filips:)

Label printing -- 3 sizes avaliable

We've added more sizes of labels to print -- small, medium and large. If you would like to modify it or create a new one for other GK users, feel free to contact us.
The label is generated via HTML template + css. You can download an example here:
HTML and CSS.
Also some issues has to be fixed (the main is label size under Internet Explorer). If you have any idea how to fix it, let us know or - better - send us the modified CSS :)

GK up again!

geokrety.org are up again. We are now on the new sevrer - the real rocket ;) AMD Athlon 800MHz + 600MB RAM (previously 500MHz + 400MB). Enjoy the new speed of generating pages of geokrety! ;)

By now all cache has assigned an altitude (thanks to SRTM data and country code (thanks to geonames service. Above data are shown in a trip page near each log.
Another cool feature is shortened track showing countries where the geokret had been, eg for Forteczny Lis:

Hola! New feature for today: you can easily create a label for your geokret. Just click an appropriate link on the geokret page. Have fun!

Other acceptable log formats

Now you can enter coordinates of caches (useful especially for those from geocaching.com) in different ways. Learn more about acceptable lat/lon formats.

Email2GK Gateway

New, cool feature for travellers: email2GK gateway - enables you to log your position via email (and thus sms). Read more: http://geokrety.org/email2gk.php
Remember: it is still beta version.

Archive (hibernate) Geokret

It is possible to archive (hibernate) the geokret. This function can be applied when your geokret was stolen or damaged and you don't want to renew it. Archived geokret can be restored again in the future.



This option is avaliable only for geokrets owners, on the geokret page.

I've decided to change some icons to open-licensed alternatives. I hope the meaning will be clear for you.

Chinese language

Thanks to Leo Liang the Chinese language is now supported.

Geokrets in my inventory

Now you can easily list Geokrets in your inventory - those geokrets, which you grabbed from the cache and not dropped OR those which you registered and not dropped.
This list is avaliable from "MyPage".

Now you can be "remembered" by the system and automatically logged in on each visit. Just check this option during logging in.

New cool feature :)

New cool feature: if you performed an operation on GeoKret using its secret Tracking Code (eg you logged picking it), then you don't need to remember this code any more.
You can perform subsequent operations (eg hidding it) just by clicking "Operations on this GeoKret" on the GeoKret's page, without entering the code.
Isn't that cool? ;)

Change default language

In your profile (MyPage) you can declare the preferred language. It will work with email notification (I hope) and probably with other tools in the future. So if you would like to change the default language (which is EN) to another, update your profile.

GK integrated with OC!

Good News! GeoKrety are now integrated with OpenCaching code. You can see the example here:

Hi. The MyPage was redesigned and information (like my geokrets, observed geokrets etc) was separated. Added "Recent Moves of my geokrets".

Added a "photo gallery" of all uploaded photos.

Two more stats added (top "droppers" and top owners).

"Yes yes yes", as our prime minister used to say :) You can edit registered moves - just click a pen icon near desired move.
This is still beta version, so be careful. One bug/feature I've noticed is that the operation hour is not preserved.

or all of You who haven't recived an email with confirmation. I improved a bit the mail delivery system and it should work fine now.
To activate your email, log in, go to my page -> (edit email address or leave the same) -> press submit button; Wait for an email, click on link and that's all.
